Through analysis of the emergent pattern of driver ants, simple pattern was created. With the logics of the movements of the ants, the folded modules which later was manipulated in different ways created different spatial qualities according to the programs within the library. My main goal was to create a public library that would act as a mediator between the heavy commerical areas of the Bowery to that of the residential area.
If time permits, I would have like to eliminate the stacking effect of the modulus system and approach the library as more of fluid like spaces. Overall, swarm theory of the ants worked as springboard of the desgin process and I enjoyed the simplicity of the swarm theory developing into a complex system.
